How To Bet On Horse Racing

Horse racing in Australia is an extremely popular sport. Another popular pastime involves placing bets on the horses. Some people do this as a career while others choose to dabble in the betting game. It can seem quite confusing until you understand the rules of the procedure. Once you can make sense of the process it is a lot easier and lot more fun to do.  There are a few key pieces of information that you need in order to place a bet. To begin with, you should focus on straight wagers. You can also, however, dabble with exotic wagers as well. You should also learn to listen to the appropriate horse racing tips. These might be quite useful. Here is what you need to know:
Straight Wagers
Straight wagers is when you bet on just one of the horses that are participating in the race. There are several ways that you can do this. The four important terms that you need to remember are win, place, show, and across the board. Win is when you are predicting that your favourite is going to win the race. Place is when you are betting that the animal will either come in first or second. Show is when you assuming that the animal will be placed in first, second, or third. Across the board is when you have decided on win, place, and show.
Exotic Wagers
Exotic wagers are when you bet on more than one horse racing gambling in a single race. The terms you need to remember here are exacta, quinella, trifecta, and superfecta. Exacta is when you bet on two horses coming first and second in a particular order. Quinella refers to two animals being first and second in any order. Trifecta is when three favourites are predicted in an exact order that you have chosen. Superfecta involves four different animals winning in an exact order.
Placing a Bet
You should get into the habit of picking up Australian Horse Racing Advice from people who are in the know. Once you know the animals that you are going to choose you should head to a teller. You then need to provide the teller with four pieces of information in a precise order. The first is the racetrack as well as the race number (this is if you are at a different racetrack). The second is how much you want to bet (in dollars). The third is the type of bet placed while the fourth is the horse’s program number. You can now go and enjoy the fruits of your knowledge. You should remember to bet smart and never place a wager with more money than you can afford to lose.
